Collect fresh thotakura, take out the leaves,clean with tap water, chop it and keep aside.

Take a deep pan,keep it on medium heat,add the chopped leaves and little water. Let it cook for two minutes.

Meanwhile take a mixer jar, add coconut,tur dal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric powder,sambar onion and curry leaves. Add half a cup of thick buttermilk. Grind it into a fine paste, pour it into the thotakura pan.

Then add one cup of buttermilk,little water, and salt, mix well.

Let the gravy cook for two minutes. Don't over cook. Thotakura buttermilk gravy is ready. Transfer to a serving bowl. Give seasoning with coconut oil, mustard seeds, sambar onion and curry leaves. Pour it on the top of the gravy.

Enjoy the healthy and tasty thotakura buttermilk gravy with plain rice, idly and dosa.
