Super Mario Mushroom Cake

Cream butter and sugar together until creamy, add your eggs and vanilla extract and mix again until incorporated. (It may look a little curdled but don't worry)

Fold in your flour but don't over mix the mixture.

Divide into two 4 inch tins and half a dome tin. Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Release from tins on a cooling rack and Allow to cool completely. (I allow them to cool overnight)

For ganache- chop up your milk chocolate and set aside.

Heat cream on the stove, take off the heat and add your chocolate. Stir until melted. Allow to cool slightly. Pop into the fridge until it reaches a spreadable consistency.

Blob a bit of ganache onto your cake board and pop on your first layer completely Cover with ganache and scrape until smooth with an acrylic or metal scraper. Pop into the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour. do the same with your dome.

Roll out your green fondant so it will fit the dome part of your cake. Place with a rolling pin and cover gently pressing down and smoothing out with your hands then your fondant smoothers, cut off any excess.

Roll out your peach colored fondant big enough to go around your bottom cake layer. (Example below)

Cut out 5 medium/large sized circles, stick the white circles onto your green dome. One right in the middle of the dome then the other 4 in each diagonal direction.(example down below.) 👇

Using your rolling pin, roll up the peach fondant and roll it around the bottom cake layer. Press down and smooth out with your fondant smoothers. Pop your green cake dome carefully on top, I didn't have dowels on hand so I secured it with a little edible glue but you can use dowels or straws.

With a black cake pen, draw on black eyes with a white dot for the pupil with the white fondant. Allow it to set in the fridge until ready to cut. Enjoy 😍😍
