Meatballs are a classic dish found in traditional cuisines around the world, from the Middle East to Europe. The version with beer, popular in many regions of Spain and also in Central European countries, combines the juiciness and intense flavor of the meat with the slightly bitter and aromatic touch that beer provides. Beer not only enhances the flavor but also helps make the meat more tender. Beer meatballs have become a comforting dish full of history, and today I invite you to make this homemade recipe.

Steps
- 1
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the flour. Mix well until you have a uniform mixture.
- 2
Shape the mixture into small round meatballs.
- 3
Coat each meatball lightly with flour.
- 4
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. When hot, add the meatballs and brown them on all sides.
- 5
Once all the meatballs are browned, set them aside.
- 6
To make the sauce, chop the onions and garlic. Sauté them in a large pot where you'll cook the meatballs. Add the bay leaves as well.
- 7
When the onions are translucent, add the meatballs to the pot.
- 8
Pour in the beer and let it cook for 5 minutes to reduce. After this time, the alcohol smell should be gone.
- 9
Next, add the chicken broth.
- 10
Bring to a boil over high heat and cook for 25 minutes so the sauce thickens a bit.
- 11
After this time, remove the meatballs and bay leaves from the pot, leaving only the sauce.
- 12
Pour the sauce into a blender and blend until smooth.
- 13
Return the sauce to the pot over high heat. Add the bay leaves, meatballs, and blended sauce back to the pot. When it starts to boil, reduce to low heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Add the chicken bouillon cube for extra flavor.
- 14
After this time, your meatballs are ready to serve.
