Usually Kerala Puttu and curry are made with lots of coconut, but this time I tried it without coconut.
Steps

Take puttu powder (podi) add salt and water. Mix it well. Keep it in cover for minimum 20 minutes. You need puttu maker for this recipe. Add puttu powder in it with care. Don't press or push it.

Add moong to the cooker. Add enough water. Remove the whistle and in the same place, keep the puttu maker. Steam should enter the puttu maker. Each set will take around 7-8 minutes. Steam starts coming out, the signal to remove the puttu maker from the cooker. Slightly push it out.

Meanwhile in the pan, add oil. Once oil is hot, add the mustard and Asafoetida. Add onion and cook for 5 minutes. Add masalas. Mix it well.

Add tomato and mix well. Add boiled green gram.

Adjust water and salt. Continue to cook on low flame. Sprinkle with some fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with puttu
