Ingredients

  1. 300 g/ 10.58 oz cooked red kidney beans
  2. 269 g/ 9.50 oz ground or chopped beef
  3. 1 tablespoonvegetable oil
  4. 2 clovesminced garlic cloves
  5. 1medium diced onion
  6. 1 1/2 teaspoonschili powder
  7. 1 teaspoonground cumin
  8. 1/2 teaspoonground coriander
  9. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  10. 1/4 teaspoonground pepper
  11. 1 teaspoonchopped fresh oregano
  12. 2diced tomatoes
  13. 1 cuptomato purée
  14. OTHER INGREDIENTS FOR THE TACO BAR
  15. 10corn tacos
  16. 10flour tortillas
  17. 4fried ripe plantains
  18. 2 cupsgrated cheddar cheese
  19. 2 cupssour cream
  20. 1 cupdiced goat cheese
  21. 1/2 cuphot sauce
  22. 2 cupsguacamole
  23. 2 cupsdiced tomatoes
  24. 4 cupsthinly sliced lettuce

Steps

45 minutes
  1. 1

    Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the garlic and onion.
    Add chili powder, cumin, and coriander and cook for a few seconds to release the flavors and aroma.

    Add the ground beef and brown it.
    Add salt, pepper, tomatoes, chopped oregano, and cook for about 10 minutes.
    Add the cooked beans and tomato purée and cook for about 10 more minutes over low heat.

    Serve the chili con carne with corn tortillas, flour tortillas, guacamole, sour cream, diced goat cheese, hot sauce or pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese or your favorite cheese, and fried ripe plantains.

    Everyone can fill their tacos or tortillas to their liking.
    Serve the flour tortillas warm if possible.
