Chili con carne is easy to prepare, and the combination of spices gives it a great flavor. You can adjust the amount of chili powder to your own taste. I love to set up a taco bar, especially when we get together at home with our children and grandchildren because they love it.

Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the garlic and onion.
Add chili powder, cumin, and coriander and cook for a few seconds to release the flavors and aroma. - 2
Add the ground beef and brown it.
Add salt, pepper, tomatoes, chopped oregano, and cook for about 10 minutes.
Add the cooked beans and tomato purée and cook for about 10 more minutes over low heat. - 3
Serve the chili con carne with corn tortillas, flour tortillas, guacamole, sour cream, diced goat cheese, hot sauce or pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese or your favorite cheese, and fried ripe plantains.

Everyone can fill their tacos or tortillas to their liking.
Serve the flour tortillas warm if possible.
