Boil water in a large pot. Add amla, switch off the flame, and cover for 10 minutes.

Grate all the amla and place in a big bowl.

Add sugar and salt in the grated amla, mix well, and set aside for 4 hours until sugar melts.

Heat a pan, add the amla-sugar mixture, and stir continuously.

Add cardamom, cloves, saffron, and cinnamon pieces.

Cook on medium flame, stirring, until the mixture thickens to a syrupy consistency.

Cool completely and store in an airtight glass jar for up to 12 months.
