Onion Pakoras
These are my mom’s favorite teatime snack. Very nostalgic!
Steps
- 1
Slice the onion thinly.
- 2
In a bowl, mix chickpea flour, water, baking soda, coriander powder, turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt.
- 3
Add sliced onions to the batter and coat well.
- 4
Heat oil in a pan. Drop spoonfuls of coated onion into hot oil.
- 5
Deep-fry until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- 6
Optionally, fry a green chili for garnish.
- 7
Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
Tips
For extra crispiness, let the batter rest for a few minutes before frying.
