Vermicelli Kheer

#Ram
Vermicelli kheer, also known as Sheer Khurma in some variations, is a traditional Indian dessert made with roasted vermicelli, milk, sugar, and flavored with cardamom, nuts, and sometimes saffron. Culinary-wise, it is loved for its creamy texture and delicate sweetness. The slow-cooked milk thickens beautifully, blending with soft vermicelli strands to create a rich, comforting dish. It is commonly prepared during festivals like Eid al-Fitr, weddings, and family gatherings. Garnishing with almonds, cashews, and raisins enhances both taste and visual appeal.
Nutritionally, vermicelli kheer provides carbohydrates from vermicelli and sugar, offering quick energy. Milk adds protein, calcium, and essential vitamins like B12 and D, supporting bone health. Nuts contribute healthy fats, fiber, and minerals. However, since it contains sugar and full-fat milk, it is calorie-dense and best enjoyed in moderation. Using low-fat milk or reducing sugar can make it slightly healthier while retaining its delicious flavor.
