Ingredients

45–60 minutes
2–3 people
  • 1whole fresh fish (sea bream or similar)
  • 3large potatoes, sliced
  • 1 cupcherry tomatoes
  • 1lemon (whole or sliced)
  • 3 clovesgarlic, minced
  • 3 tbspolive oil
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1 tspblack pepper
  • 1 tsppaprika
  • 1 tspcumin
  • 1 tbspchopped parsley & cilantro
  • Juice of half a lemon

Steps

45–60 minutes
  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 180°C.

  2. 2

    In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, spices, herbs, and lemon juice.

  3. 3

    Coat the fish with the marinade (inside and outside).

  4. 4

    Arrange sliced potatoes in a tagine or baking dish. Add tomatoes on top.

  5. 5

    Place the fish over the vegetables and add a whole lemon in the center (optional).

  6. 6

    Drizzle remaining marinade over everything.

  7. 7

    Cover and bake for 40–50 minutes until the fish and potatoes are tender.

Tips

✔ Use fresh fish for best flavor.
✔ Add green peppers or olives for extra Moroccan taste.
✔ Serve with fresh bread and a simple salad.
✔ Let it rest 5 minutes before serving for deeper flavor.
