Karela Sabzi

Clean the Karela / Bitter gourd and remove it seeds. Now cut the Karela into thin slices. Put in salt water for at least 15 to 20 minutes.

Now heat the pan add oil in it. Then put mustard seeds once it crackles add turmeric, asafoetida. Now put onion to it and saute it till it turns golden color. Now strain the water from Karela / Bitter gourd and add Karela to it. Mix well and cover the pan simmer the gas flame and cook it.

Now add salt to taste, jaggery powder,Coriander powder, red chilli powder to it and mix well. cover the pan simmer the gas flame and cook it. Karela / Bitter gourd veggie is ready to serve.

Serve it with Roti, Chapati, Fulka as per your choice.
Tips
Whenever we cut Karela/ Bitter gourd/Bitter Melon always put in salt Water at least for 15 to 20 minutes , so that its bitter taste reduces a little bit, and discard the water.
