Mor Kuzhambu or Kulambu is a popular South Indian dish made with Buttermilk,Toor Daal or Pigeon Pea Lentils, Coconut, Ginger, Cumin seeds and Green Chillies in Kerala and Tamilnadu States. It's basically a Yogurt based curry made with Coconut paste and herbs.
It's a tangy thin consistency curry often featuring Vegetables like Ash Gourd or White Pumpkin, Colocasia or Arbi and Okra and served alongside plain boiled Rice and a spicy side or a curry.
This is often made at home and relished by everyone in the family. It's a perfect choice for Summers and to whip it up is so very easy and effortless.
Pachai Mor Kuzhambu is without Vegetables and a plain version. This is a simple recipe as well and perfect for Summers. Bengal Gram or Chana Daal, Fenugreek seeds or Methi Dana are also used in some households in this plain Mor Kuzhambu. I have also made this plain version this time with no Vegetables. A pure comfort food at it's best. It is loved by many. And I usually make it more than two times a week to beat the scorching heat of the Season. Do check out the recipe and it's making and leave a feedback if you loved it.
