I have an amazing experience with chana dal pulao, a good fit for lunch and can be quickly prepared with ingredients available at home. Buttermilk as a supplement will enhance the meal. #CA26

Fry onion in cooking oil till golden brown color. Keep aside the prepared onion and add green chilli, cinnamon, bay leaves, chhoti elaichi of mentioned quantity. Add ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, tomato and salt. Fry all these contents till it starts releasing oil.

Add yogurt and mix well.

Add half cooked chana dal, again mix the content well. Cover the lid and wait for 5 mins

Add boiled water, rice at high flame for a moment. Cover the lid and wait for 5 more mins

Mix the rice well with the contents.

Add golden brown onion and coriander prepared earlier. Close the lid and turn off the flame. Wait for a while then serve.
Tips
Keep in mind not to use over cooked dal.
