Peel and slice the potatoes vertically,if a potato is big enough slice in 4 pieces and if the potato is small slice into two

Using a saucepan put the sliced potatoes add little water then put githeri and cover it for the potatoes to cook

When the potatoes are well cooked remove from the heat and season with salt

Using a wooden stick(mwiko) mash it
- 5
Cook the onion when it turns golden brown add to the mixer and continue mashing it
- 6
When it mixes well serve when still hot
