Ingredients

3-serving
  • 1 CupAval (Poha)
  • 1 TablespoonOil
  • 1 TablespoonMustard seeds
  • 1 TablespoonUrad dal
  • 1 TablespoonChana dal
  • 1Red chilli
  • 1Green chilli
  • to tasteSalt
  • Turmeric powder
  • Coconut (grated)
  • Curry leaves ( to garnish )

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds to it. When it splutters add urad dal, chana dal, red chillies and green chillies to it.

  2. 2

    Add tamarind water and asafoetida, salt and turmeric powder to it. Heat it till it turns into a thick consistency. Add the soaked aval(poha) to the above consistency and mix well.

  3. 3

    Add grated coconut and curry leaves to it and mix well.
