Ingredients

  • 1 bunchpalak spinach / chopped ,  Big
  • 3/4 Cupmung dal Yellow
  • 8 - 9 numbersgarlic Crushed
  • 2onions Medium sized chopped
  • 3 - 4 numbersGreen chillies Slit
  • 1/2 teaspoonTurmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoonRed chilli powder
  • pinchasafoetida a
  • 3 tablespoonsOil
  • to tasteSalt
  • 5 tablespoonsWater

Steps

  1. 1

    Thoroughly wash and then soak the mung dal for approx 1 hour.

  2. 2

    In a wok add oil. Once the oil is hot add asafoetida, garlic and sauté until light brown. Then add green chillies, and onions and sauté.

  3. 3

    Drain the water from the mung dal and add the mung dal in the kadhai with 5 tbsp of water and the spices (turmeric, red chilly powder2020202) and stir everything well.

  4. 4

    Cover and cook for  10 mins. Keep stirring every now and then.

  5. 5

    The water should now be evaporated and the dal cooked.

  6. 6

    Now add the chopped spinach/ palak and salt and stir well.

  7. 7

    Cover and cook for 5-7 mins.

  8. 8

    Sabzi is ready!!
