Ingredients

  • 1.5 cupsBasmati rice -
  • 1Carrot -
  • 8Green bean -
  • 3 to 4Pepper pepper - crushed
  • Water - As required
  • Salt - As required
  • Cocunut oil - As required

Steps

20 mins
  1. 1

    Soak rice in water for 30 mins.

  2. 2

    Drain and cook the rice in 4 to 5 cups water with salt added in a required amount, till the grains are al dente or just cooked.

  3. 3

    Strain if needed and let the rice cool completely. cover and keep the rice aside. Don’t overcook the rice.

  4. 4

    When the rice is cooling, chop the veggies and keep aside.

  5. 5

    Heat coconut oil in a non-stick pan. Add the vegetable and stir for 2-3 minutes.

  6. 6

    If you cannot handle stir frying on a high flame, then stir fry on a medium flame.

  7. 7

    You have to continuously toss and stir while frying so that the veggies are uniformly cooked and do not get burnt.

  8. 8

    The veggies have to be cooked till they are almost cooked and yet retain their crunchiness and crispiness.

  9. 9

    Stir quickly and add the rice and the crushed pepper.

  10. 10

    Serve the veg fried rice hot plain.
