This recipe came from a former coworker. His grandmother had a peach orchard. She would put this recipe in the bottom of every bushel she sold.
Other fruits also work well with this recipe.

Steps

Preheat oven to 350°

Mix sliced peaches and 3/4 C sugar and set aside.

Place stick of butter into deep baking dish or pan and melt in preheated oven.

Stir together a batter with 1/2 C Sugar, 3/4 C Flour, pinch of Salt, and 3/4 C Milk.

Pour batter over melted Butter but do not stir. Put Peaches over batter but do not stir.

Bake for 45 minutes. Batter will rise and the top will be crisp and brown.

Note: I have used canned peaches IN JUICE before. Fresh blueberries work well in place of or mixed with the peaches.
