In a covered ceramic baking dish, place a layer of potatoes cut in half on the bottom.

Add a layer of onion rings on top, then about half the lamb. Add a cinnamon stick, oregano, salt, pepper, bay leaf, half the lemon juice, and the olive oil over the meat.

Repeat the same layering process one more time.

Pour in about 2 cups water (about 475 ml) and cover the dish.

Bake in the oven for about 4 to 5 hours.
