Corn Pulao

Here is a quick rice dish you can put together when you have some hungry people at home. In Kuwait there are so many "Buttered Corn" stores that it is a common habit for anyone to get themselves a cup of buttered corn when anyone goes shopping. I have loved corn from the time I was a little kid, and the other day, I bought a few cans to make some soup, and had 1 left in the pantry. Needed a rice idea, and decided to make some Corn Pulao
I have mentioned Pulao Masala in the recipe, if you have none, you can add some briyani masala or garam masala

Steps

  1. 1

I began by adding the cumin seeds, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon stick and bay leaf to some heated oil on medium heat and got all the amazing flavor mix in with the oil

  2. 2

Next add the onions, green chillies and ginger and garlic pastes and saute until the onions are soft

  3. 3

The 2 tbsp of briyani masala go in next

  4. 4

Cook until the raw smell of the masala is gone

  5. 5

Our main ingredient goes in finally - corn

  6. 6

Since it is out of a can, it should be cooked already

  7. 7

Give this a few minutes before you add in the cooked rice

  8. 8

Toss gently so that the rice does not get mushed

  9. 9

Add the required amount of salt

  10. 10

    Garnish and serve hot!

Welcome to my Blog The Eaterspot. My blogging journey began in March 2010. I had just relocated from the US, and living in Wellington, New Zealand was definitely a whole lot different from the US. The day after I landed here, I began a full time job, but I still had a whole lot of free time after 5pm. I was cooking a lot of new dishes from various cuisines so the blog was born to document my cooking for my friends and family to follow what we are upto as a newly married couple and to see what we were eating! Thanks for visting my spot!
