This is the traditional recipe of the Myconian onion pie! It is usually served at panigyria (festivals or fiestas). Extremely delicious!

Steps

Heat a little oil and add it to the flour. Mix and knead well, add the yeast, cover it and set it aside to rise.

In the meantime, prepare the filling. Grate the onion and add the tyrovolia.

Add the dill, finely chopped and the eggs, beaten.

Roll out the dough using a pin into two thick pieces. Spread one of them in a baking tray brushed with oil with the excess hanging over the sides of the baking tray and then add the filling.

Spread the lard and the butter pieces on top of that.
- 6
Cover with the second filo sheet and and joing the edges until they seal. Bake in a moderate oven for half an hour.
