Ingredients

18 koulouria
  1. 1 kgbread flour
  2. 500 mlwater
  3. 100 mlolive oil
  4. 2 packetsdry yeast
  5. 20 gsalt
  6. 80 gsugar
  7. 1 tbsptahini
  8. 300 gsesame seeds
  9. 400 gfeta cheese
  10. 400 gcream cheese

Steps

  1. 1

    Start by mixing the flour, the water, the yeast, the sugar, the oil, the salt and the tahini and make a dough that you work thoroughly for 15 minutes.

    Then divide the dough into 18 pieces, form sticks and then roll them out with a rolling pin into long and narrow strips.

    Mix the feta cheese with the cream cheese into a well combined mixture.

    Fill the strips with the cheese mixture and then fold them into rolls - sticks.

    Dip your hands in water and then brush the koulouri with wet hands so that you wet the bread ring, then dip it into the sesame seeds.

    Preheat the oven to 235°C and place 4 single-use aluminum cups filled with water in order to produce steam and leave them in the oven for the duration of the baking. Bake the koulouria in a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper for about 20 minutes.
