Steps

Leave the lentils in a pot of water for about three hours.

Boil them in salted water for 10 minutes. Then, discard that water and use a new pot allowing the lentils to boil once more.

Add the rice and let everything cook for an additional 10 minutes.

Add the grated carrot and the cut onion with the garlic, the tomato sauce and the spices.

Allow the sauce to thicken.
- 6
Remove from heat and serve.
