In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and sugar6

Mix the water with the vegetable oil. Gradually add this mixture to the flour while kneading into dough. use additional water if necessary. Before adding water add in vanilla essence.

Let the dough rest for a few minutes. Divide the dough into six equal round balls.

Roll every ball in a flat surface maintaining the circular shape of the dough. Cut the flattened dough into 4 equal quarters

Repeat the previous process for the remaining dough.

Cut the mandazi into small size according to the size that you want.

Heat oil in a heavy pan in medium size heat until hot enough.
