Was craving fried food and cheese, and didn't want to pay to go out to eat. Whipped this up from what I had in the fridge: cheeses could easily be substituted, and fresh tomatoes could replace salsa. This is the wonderful monster I came up with, so easy and delicious!

  1. 2 slicebread (used whole wheat)
  2. 1each egg
  3. 2 tspbutter
  4. 2 tbspgrated parmesan cheese
  5. 4 tbspbrie cheese
  6. 1 tbspsalsa
  7. ground black pepper
  8. garlic powder

    Spread softened butter equally on one side of each slice of bread. Meanwhile, have frying pan warming to medium-low heat.

  2. 2

    On one unbuttered side of one slice, spread the salsa. Then add about 3 tbs of brie on top.

  3. 3

    Fry the egg over easy, with pepper to taste. Once bottom of egg is firm, place atop of salsa and brie slice.

  4. 4

    Top with the rest of the brie and other slice of bread. The buttered side should be on the outside.

  5. 5

    On one buttered side, spread 1 tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese and press down gently. Place this face down on a skillet or griddle heated over medium heat. 

  6. 6

    Top the other buttered side (should be face up in the pan) with the rest of the parmesan cheese and garlic powder.

  7. 7

    Cook for 4-6 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cheese on the inside is melted. Enjoy immediately.
