Ingredients

5 servings
  • 2 kgmutton leg, cut into 1inch cubes
  • 4 clove
  • 4pepper corns
  • 1inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 1/2 tspsalt (accordingly)
  • 1 1/2 cupwarm water
  • 2 largeonion, chopped
  • 4 largetomatoes (chopped up)
  • 1 tspcummin seeds
  • 6 tbspsunflower oil
  • 2 cloveminced garlic
  • 3 tbspmince ginger
  • 4chopped green chillies
  • 1 1/2 tspgaram masala
  • 1hot water as needed
  • 1 1/2 tspcurry powder

  1. 1

    Pressurize the mutton in 1.5 glasses of water and salt for 15minutes

  2. 2

    Strain the water from the mutton and keep aside. Put oil in a pot, add cinnamon, cumin, pepper corns and cloves then add onions and brown them (not golden, but dark brown.. Try not to burn) add garlic and ginger

  3. 3

    Add the tomatoes, salt, green chillies and curry powder and cook until it looks like a paste. Add the mutton and the water. Add 1.5 glasses hot water and cover.. Allow to simmer for 15minutes then add garam masala
