Cooking Instructions
- 1
Wash apples with hot water to remove wax or impurities from skin .Peel & cut apples into small slices. Keep the apple peels. Mix jaggery or brown sugar in water, add star Annie's and cardamon, dissolve & bring to boil. Add apple, nutmeg pwdr & cinnamon pwdr. Cook for 5-6 min.
- 2
Mix butter oil & flour. Add some boiling apple syrup from cooking apples, mix well. Add to apple mix cook until filling thickens and well cooked .Discard star annies & cardamon. Cool down.
- 3
Add apple peels in 1/2 cup water and 1tsp sugar. Bring to boil and cook for 2 min. Discard peels & Cool down liquid in freezer and use to make pie dough. It adds soft apple flavor to crust.
- 4
For crust: Mix flour and butter with hand, add other ingredients in crust list except cold water ( I used step 3 liquid to mix) Slowly add water to make a dough that won't be too soft or too hard.
- 5
Butter the inner surface of pie bowl, ( I used 9" by 9" square shaped) keep aside.Divide the dough in two (according to cook pad recipes, 4:6 ratio) Roll big part on floured surface, shift to pie bowl, cover & secure the sides and bottom.
- 6
Pre heat oven to 200°c.( I inserted pie bowl with base layer in last 6 min of pre heating, it hardens the surface of crust to hold the filling better as its a bit thick gravy kinda filling) take the bowl out, pour filling, brush milk on the side pie walls, cover another rolled pie dough over it. Secure edges, prick with tooth picks. Bake for 20 min in 170° c or until sides r golden brown.
- 7
Take out cool down then remove the whole pie and serve .U can keep the rest in refrigerator and eat next day.

My Apple Pie My Apple Pie
Now that it's getting colder, it's the season for pie. And when I think of Jonathan apples that means one thing, apple pie. I'm not very good at using normal flaky pastry and the apples get soggy, so I always bake the apples first and make the pie like this.If the pastry becomes too soft while carrying out these steps then please continue doing them while chilling the pastry in the fridge. The amount of apples you will need will change according to the size of the pie and apples. This pie isn't so sweet, so please adjust the sugar amount to make it sweeter if you wish. Whole Apple Pie Whole Apple Pie
I decided to try to make an apple pie using a whole apple. Through trial and error, I came up with this fairly easy recipe.・When cooking the apples, place them in a microwavable container, leaving a little room to move the apples around. Cover them with a lid and plastic wrap, but be very careful removing this when the apples are cooked as the steam will be very hot.・Make sure the apples are thoroughly cooled when you wrap the pie crust around them. You can chill them in the refrigerator if you prefer. Recipe by nyonta cookpad.japan -

Classic Apple Pie Classic Apple Pie
After combining and tinkering with various recipes, I settled on this version. Good flavor and no soggy bottom. Leaving out excess fluid from the apples ensures that you don’t end up with a runny mess. The apples bake up nicely and even retain a very slight bite instead of turning into mush. If you like really soft apples in your pie and a runnier inside, simply add some of the excess apple fluid back into the pie.#Holiday #Thanksgiving #Dessert #American Chris Gan -
