Steps

Beat eggs in mixing bowl with paddle attachment for 4 minutes. Dont skip this step.

Add sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy for 4-5 minutes. Add vanilla and stir on low until just combined.

In a separate bowl sift dry ingredients. Add them to the eggs and sugar and mix on low until just combined.

In a saucepan on low heat melt butter in milk. Add the butter mixture to the batter until just combined.

Pour into greased and floured 8"or 9" cake pans. Bake at 325°F until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean or middle springs back when touched. NB cakes are almost ready when you start to smell them

Remove from oven and allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes. Turn onto wire cooling rack and allow to cool completely. Decorate as desired and enjoy!
