Cheese Poofs

I had a ton of flour and wanted to make something with it to start getting rid of it. I didn't have shortening, but I recalled something my mother had made once that didn't need any. This is that recipe. Enjoy!

I had a ton of flour and wanted to make something with it to start getting rid of it. I didn't have shortening, but I recalled something my mother had made once that didn't need any. This is that recipe. Enjoy!
Steps
- 1
Preheat oven to 375.
- 2
Bring to a boil the water, milk, and butter.
- 3
Take off the burner and add the cup of flour. Stir with a wooden spoon until it starts to pull from the sides of the pot (about 2 minutes).
- 4
Crack each egg one at a time directly into the mix, stirring each one until it is completely mixed in before adding the next one.
- 5
Stir in your cheese. It's your choice on what kind to use. I personally used a 3 cheese mix. (Italian herbs and cayenne are optional).
- 6
Drop spoonfuls of the mix on a baking sheet.
- 7
Bake for about 20 minutes.
