Ingredients

30 minutes
4 servings
  • 500 gm Kathal cut into small pieces (buy small kathla only as it tastes very nice when cooked.)
  • 4Onion medium cut small and evenly
  • 1 teaspoonJeera sabut
  • 8 piecesGol mirch (kaali mirch)
  • 2Badi elaichi
  • 3Red chilli (sabut)
  • 2 piecesTej patta
  • 1 pinchHing
  • 4 pieces Clove
  • 1 big tablespoonGaram masala
  • 1 bowlRefind oil
  • as neededCoriander leaves chopped
  • 2potatos cut in small pieces

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Fry kathal in a pan for ten minutes. You can do a shallow fry only.

    Add half bowl mustard oil in a cooker... Let it be hot for 2 minutes

  3. 3

    Add sliced onion and fry it for 5 minutes till it turns slightly brown.

  4. 4

    Add all sabut masala to it. Let it be cooked for 10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Add kathal in the cooker and cook it for 10 minutes on a low-medium flame.

  6. 6

    Add garam masala and cook for 5 minutes.

    Add half cup of water and close the lid of the cooker and let 2 whistles blow.

  8. 8

    You can also add potato pieces if you desire so but it's not mandatory.

  9. 9

    Serve with coriander leaves.
