Heat ghee in shallow pan and give tadka of jeera, garlic and hing in it. Then saute onion till it become nice golden

Now add dal and rice together. Add salt, red chilli powder and 1/2cup of water and mix it. At this stage add tomato and let it cook till water gets reduced. Let it be little wet and runny

Now take it in plate. Garnish it with sev and coriander and serve it.
