Ingredients

  1. 1 lbfresh green beans
  2. spice blends order at www.waverleykitchens.com
  3. 1/2 tspWK Seed Blend
  4. 1 1/2 tspWK Sabji Blend
  5. pantry items
  6. 2 tsplemon juice
  7. 3/4 tspsalt (to your taste)
  8. 2 tbspcooking oil of your choice
  9. 3 quartnon-stick pan with cover

Steps

  1. 1

    Cut green beans into 1 inch pieces (3 cups); set aside

  2. 2

    Add 2 tbsp oil to pan and 1/2 tsp 'WK Seed Blend'

  3. 3

    Set to medium low heat and heat oil until there is small movement in spices (usually 2 min)

  4. 4

    Immediately add green beans and 1 1/2 tsp 'WK Sabji Blend' and 3/4 tsp salt (to your taste); stir to mix spices

  5. 5

    Cook until beans are tender (usually 10 min); stir occasionally, check beans at bottom not burnt

  6. 6

    Add 1 tsp lemon juice, stir

  7. 7

    For a full meal add:
    - Rice, naan, bread or heated whole wheat tortilla
    - Salad
    - Any bean curry
    - Yogurt

    Variations:
    - To make hot add chopped jalapeño pepper or red chilli powder
    - Add potato cut in small pieces in step 4; check they are cooked in step 5
