Ingredients

  • pork and beans
  • 2 lbcountry style pork ribs
  • 1 smallonion, chopped
  • 115 ounce can navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 115 ounce can dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 114.5 ounce can italian style diced tomatoes
  • 6minced cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsptomato paste
  • 1/2 tbspsalt
  • 1 tsporegano
  • 1/2 tspbasil
  • 1 tsppepper
  • 3/4 canof water using tomato can

Steps

    THIS RECIPE CAN GO IN A SLOW COOKER OR STOVE TOP DUTCH OVEN.

    Trim any excess fat from ribs

  3. 3

    Place all ingredients into slow cooker.

  4. 4

    Set to low and cook 9 hours or high and cook 5 hours.

  5. 5

    For dutch oven, brown ribs on both sides.

    Add all your ingredients but use one full can of water, and cook on medium high until it comes to a simmer.

    Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 2 hours, checking every 20 minutes to see if you need to add any water.

  8. 8

    When adding water for dutch oven use hot water. This keeps temperatures steady.
