As with most Mexican foods, you really need to take into account how many chiles you're using. Everyone has a different preferred heat level, so although I use 3 serranos for myself, please remember to start with just one or two. If you feel that you'd like a bit more spice, just throw in another chile and blend well.

  1. 1 largeavocado (ripened)
  2. 2serranos (roasted)
  3. 2 clovegarlic (roasted)
  4. 1lime (juiced)
  5. 1/4 smallonion
  6. 3/4 cupwater
  7. 3/4 tspsalt (or more to taste)
  8. 1/4 bunchcilantro (roughly chopped)

    Roast serranos and garlic.

  2. 2

    Cut avocado in half, remove the pit and scoop out the flesh. Now place all ingredients, except the cilantro, in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.

  3. 3

    Add cilantro and pulse until well incorporated. Serve with tacos, nachos or as a dip.
