Ingredients

  • 12 ozsausage, sliced (I use chicken sausage from a natural foods store, but you can use whatever kind you prefer)
  • 1 lblinguine
  • 4 slicebacon, diced
  • 1 1/4 cupchicken broth
  • 1crushed red pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2lemon juiced & zested
  • 2 cupheavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cupdiced tomatoes

Steps

  1. 1

    Bring a large pot of water to a boil.

  2. 2

    Prepare linguine.

  3. 3

    In a large saute pan, cook sausage and bacon.

  4. 4

    Remove sausage and bacon, leave drippings in the pan.

  5. 5

    Stir in chicken broth and seasonings, continue cooking until liquid is reduced by half.

  6. 6

    Stir in lemon zest and juice.

  7. 7

    Stir in heavy cream and simmer until it coats the back of a spoon.

  8. 8

    Stir in diced tomatoes.

  9. 9

    Toss bacon, sausage and linguine in sauce until thick and sticks to noodles.

Some of my favorite things are family, friends, my pets, cooking, baking, football (Badger & Packer), Brewer baseball, college basketball, car racing, thrift stores, volunteering, and rummage sales. I have a 9 year old rescue dog, and 7 birds ( 6 are rescue) and they range in age from 1 year to over 19 years old. I volunteer for a dog rescue and a shelter, as well as other festivals and organizations.
