1 canPeaches in heavy syrup
1/4 cupSugar, or less
1/4 tspCrushed cloves
1/2 tspCinnamon
1/4 tspNutmeg
1 tbspCornstarch

Drain some peach juice into a small bowl and set aside.

Place peaches in pan and add all ingredients except for the cornstarch.

Stir well.

Add cornstarch to peach juice reserved in bowl. Stir well.

Add mixture to peaches when boiling. Should turn clear and thicken.

Pour over buttered toast.
