Cut a slice of watermelon as you would a slice of pineapple. Remove the rind, then cut the watermelon into thick strips (like steak fries), and then cut the strips into small cubes.

Divide the watermelon cubes between two glasses.

Wash and chop the figs, then place them on top of the watermelon cubes.

Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to each glass and fill with sangria.

Serve chilled.
