Ingredients

30 minutes
2 servings
  1. 2 pcKatla Fish
  2. 1 cupPotato slices
  3. 1 cupOnion Slices
  4. 2 Table SpoonTomato Chopped
  5. 2Green chillis
  6. 2 Tea spoonkalonji + cumin seeds
  7. 1 InchGinger
  8. 2 Tea spoonCoriander powder
  9. 2 Tea spoonCummin powder
  10. 1 and 1/2 Tea spoon Turmeric powder
  11. 2 Tea spoonKashmiri mirch
  12. 1 Tea spoonRed chilli powder
  13. 1 Tea spoonGaram masala
  14. as neededsalt
  15. oil
  16. Fresh Coriander leaves for garnishing

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Marinate the fish pieces with salt and 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.

    Now heat oil in a kadai and fry the pieces till golden brown from both the sides. Take them out in a plate and keep aside.

    Now in the same oil add kalo jeera and gota jeera. when it stops crakling add the onions and grated ginger. Fry the onions till transparent and light brown.

    Now add the Tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes are soft.

  5. 5

    When the tomatoes get soft add potatoes and all the masalas but skip the garam masala. Fry them well and add little water so that the masala doesn't get burn.

    When the oil starts separating add water and cover it. cook in medium flame till the potatoes are cooked water is reduced.

    Add the fish pieces and green chilies and coriander leaves, garam masala.
    Serve Hot with steam rice.
