Ingredients

  • 1small bowl brown rice soaked for 2 hrs
  • 1/2 bowlwhole moong soaked for 2 hrs
  • Less than 1/2 bowl broken wheat soaked
  • 1small bowl chopped carrot
  • 1small bowl chopped beetroot
  • 1small bowl chopped beans
  • Onion chopped for garnish
  • to tasteSalt
  • Ghee and asafoetida for seasoning
  • Cumin seeds ; peppercorns for seasoning

  1. 1

    Take the rice, brown rice and broken wheat along with the beetroot beans and carrot add in the water in to the cooker to an inch higher than the ingredients together. Add salt

  2. 2

    Let it boil in slow and allow to whistle 2-3 times

  3. 3

    Take it out, boil some water separately to mix in case the consistency is not wet.

  4. 4

    Take ghee add in long chopped onions asafoetida and cumin seeds with peppercorns for seasoning.

  5. 5

    Approximate calories : 310 kcal ; high in protein, high in fiber, iron. Best for anyone. Most nutritious.

  6. 6

    Ready with hot simmering healthy and tasty khichadi.
