Steps
- 1
Preheat oven to 425° F
- 2
In large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients. Its ok to use a fork. I do.
- 3
Add shortening and mix until there are no more clumps.
- 4
Gradually stir in milk until dough does not stick to sides of bowl.
- 5
Spread flour on desired surface and lay down the dough. Knead dough for about a minute, then flatten to about 1 inch.
- 6
Use a large round cutter or a cup to cut dough into circles. You may need to rub the cutting tool with flour to prevent sticking.
- 7
Place biscuits onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- 8
Bake 13-15 minutes or until edges begin to brown.
- 9
Remove from oven and let sit for a minute before serving. I love them for biscuits and gravy or breakfast sandwiches with egg, cheese and sausage or bacon. They're also great with honey, butter, or jelly or just plain. Enjoy and feel free to leave a review, good or bad.
