This is an easy recipe, yet so good. Great for parties and pot lucks. Not a lot of ingredients, not real expensive to make, and it seems everyone loves them. These go quick, make a bunch.

Ingredients

many
  1. 2tubes crescent rolls (dough or rolls)
  2. Filling
  3. 2 (8 oz.)packages cream cheese
  4. 1/2 cupsugar
  5. 1egg yolk
  6. 1 tsp.vanilla
  7. 1 cupblueberries (frozen or fresh)
  8. Topping
  9. 1egg white
  10. 3/4 cupsugar
  11. 1 tspcinnamon

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Bring cream cheese to room temp. Also thaw blueberries if using frozen

  2. 2

    Pre-heat oven to 350 F

  3. 3

    Grease a 9 X 13 cake pan

  4. 4

Unroll one roll of crescent dough and spread in bottom of cake pan (bottom crust)

  5. 5

Put the filling ingredients, EXCEPT the blueberries, into a mixing bowl

  6. 6

Using a mixer, mix until smooth and creamy

  7. 7

As evenly as possible spread the cheese mixture onto the crescent dough in the cake pan

  8. 8

Evenly spread the blueberries on top of the cheese mixture

  9. 9

Spread the second tube of dough on top of the blueberries (top crust). If it doesn't cover completely, that is OK, it is hard to get it 100% to the sides. Just don't mess up the filling

  10. 10

Mix topping sugar and cinnamon together really well.

  11. 11

Mix egg whites until frothy (you are not looking for peaks or anything like that)

  12. 12

Spread egg white on top of top crust

  13. 13

Sprinkle sugar mixture evenly on top of egg white/crust

  14. 14

Bake in oven for 35-40 minutes

  15. 15

Cool in Cake pan. Then after it is room temp., cool in refrigerator. Slice into squares once it is completely cold, for best results in slicing.

My wife is disabled, she has M.S. And she finds it hard to cook from her wheelchair. I like a variety of foods, but hate tomatoes, so you don't see too many of my recipes with tomatoes on them. Also both of us have type II diabetes, so high carb and sweet is usually not on the menu either. We have one married daughter, and one that now lives in the Seattle area. We live in Texas, USA with our two dogs.Sorry I have not posted in awhile. Been taking chemo and radiation. and it has taken some out of me. Doctor says it seems to be working, so there is that.
