Steps

soak beans over night, or pressure cook 30 minutes

combine beans, chicken broth, garlic, and half of the chopped onions in a large pot and bring to boil.

Reduce heat to simmer until beans are soft.. about 3 hours.

add more broth as necessary.

saute remaining onion in vegetable oil.

Add chilies, cumin, oregano, and cayenne to sauted onion, and mix lightly.

add sauted mixture to beans

add cooked chicken to beans

cook on low 1 hour more

add salt to taste, and cheese as desired
