preheat the oven to 180°F.

in a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar then set aside.

in another bowl sift flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda together.

beat eggs in a cup then gradually mix in with the creamed butter and sugar.

mash the bananas(leave some lumps if texture is preffered) then pour into the wet mix adding the vanilla and stir together.

fold in the flour mix till a batter consistancy forms and is all thoroughly mixed.

grease and line a loaf tin and pour mix in then sprinkle the top with any sugar and bake for 45 to 55 mins. its done when a knife or skewer comes out clean.

let cool in the tin for at least 10 mins. slice and serve.

wrap in tin foil or cling film it ladts about 5 days and tastes great reheated.
