Preserved Cherries

It's rare to find affordable cherries here. I want to preserve some of them so I'll be able to have some many, many months later. This should last for up to a year, but here, I doubt it would last that long.

It's rare to find affordable cherries here. I want to preserve some of them so I'll be able to have some many, many months later. This should last for up to a year, but here, I doubt it would last that long.
Steps
- 1
Sterilize two jars. (I boil them for about 15 minutes, put them in a clean towel to dry. Use tissue if necessary.)
- 2
Remove the stems of the cherries. Make a tiny cut on each cherry. Put them in jars.
- 3
Boil the sugar and water until the sugar dissolves. Pour into the jars.
- 4
Cover the jars.
- 5
Pour some water into a pot. Put the jars into the pot. The water should cover the body of the jars.
- 6
Boil the water then reduce the heat. Simmer for 20 minutes or so.
