Ingredients

1 cupbutter or margarine
2 cupsugar
4large eggs (beaten)
3 tbspcocoa
1 1/2 cupflour
1/2 tspbaking powder
1/2 tspsalt
1 tspvanilla

Steps

Preheat oven to 350°F

Grease and flour a 9 by 13 baking pan

Cream butter

Gradually add sugar creaming until light and fluffy

Blend in eggs

Sift together dry ingredients & add to creamed mixture; mix only until blended

Stir in vanilla

Pour batter into greased and floured 9 by 13 cake pan

Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes

Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar or frost with chocolate buttercream frosting
