tasty tomato sauce ( base for spag bol, lasagne & chilli)

slice and dice onions and garlic and place in a pan with olive oil to soften

add salt, pepper,basil ,itallian mixed herbs, chilli powder(optional), tomato puree,bay leaf, 1 maggi stock cube and a splash of lee n perins wochester sauce. stir well

add two tins of chopped tomatoes, stir well, reduced heat and place on a low heat for 30 mins, stirring occasionaly

once cooked use hand blender to blend just a little though do not blend to a puree. taste the sauce when ready, sometimes I add a little extra of everything and cook for a little longer to make it extra tasty :-)

this is your pasta sauce done and ready to serve, add any veggies whilst cooking to make the sauce chunky or add some browned mince and a beef stock cube and cook for a futher hr for a spag bol, this can be used for lasagne filling or add kidney beans n some chilli for chilli con carne

if you would like your sauce a little tastier use a large red onion instead and use fresh tomatoes and herbs intead of dried ones
