Steps

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Put butter in casserole dish. Place in oven while preheating to melt butter. Remove from oven when melted

Beat eggs and milk together until well blended.

Mix together with onions and hash browns.

Put mixture into the 2 quart baking casserole dish

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Sprinkle the bacon bits evenly over the egg and potato mixture.

Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and top with the cheddar cheese. Place back in oven for an additional 10 minutes.
