1/4 cupshortening
1/2 cuppacked light brown sugar
1/3 cupgranulated sugar
1egg
1 1/2 tspvanilla extract
1 1/2 cupall-purpose flour
1/2 tspbaking soda
1/2 tspsalt
1 1/3 cupChocolatechips

heat oven to 350

beat butter and shortening in a large bowl until well blended
3

add brown sugar and granulated sugar
4

add egg and vanilla, beat until well blended
5

stir together flour, baking soda, and salt
6

Gradually beat into butter mixture

stir in the chocolatechips
8

Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungrease cookies sheet
9

bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
