1/2 tspsalt
3/4 tspsoda
1 tspcinnamon
1/4 tspnutmeg
3/4 cupsoft shortening
1 1/3 cupbrown sugar
2eggs
1 tspvanilla
2 cupquick cooking oats
1 cupraisins

preheat oven 350

sift first five ingredients into bowl

add shortening,sugar, eggs, and vanilla

beat until smooth.

stir in oats and raisins.

drop heaping teaspoons on greased baking sheet

350f for 12-15 mins

makes 3 1/2 dozens cookies
