combine 2 cups water, sugar and next 4 ing in saucepan over med heat. bring to boil stirring until salt dissolves. remove from heat; let stand 10 min. add sugar mixture and remaining gallon water to brining bag.

remove neck and giblets from turkey. reserve neck. Trim excess fat; add turkey to brining bag. seal and refrigerate18 to 24 hours.
