Catalan "Pa amb Tomàquet" (bread with tomato spread)

This is more a suggestion/hint than a recipe because it is SO simple (but effective)! This is the way we prepare bread to eat for breakfasts or starters in Catalonia, normally with sliced ham, "charcuteria" (cold cuts) or cheese. Enjoy!!

Cut tomatoes in half and GRATE them (yes, like cheese :). Discard the skin.

Put the grated tomatoes in a bowl, add the oil and salt and stir to mix.

Toast the bread

If you want the full Catalan experience, peel a garlic clove, cut it in half and rub it around the toasted bread (first the borders and then the inside).

Use the tomato mix on the bread and put whatever you'd like on top (suggestions: cured ham, sweet ham, cheese or pretty much any sliced thing)
